Alaska Pollock Sustainable Fish is a member of the cod family, it is found throughout the north Pacific.
This fish grows rapidly, maturing at around 3 to 4 years old. It can grow to about 90cm and attain ages of 15 to 17 years. It is also called (Walleye Pollock Fish) because of its big distinctive eyes.
You must eat it from MSC Certified Alaskan fisheries only and look for the Blue Tick Logo on the packaging, whilst these fisheries are well managed. Make sure it' is not from illegal Russian Far East fisheries.
Alaska Pollock Sustainable Fish is a white fish, slight in flavour and low in fat. Makes great fishcakes and steamed.
